LITTLE DOG ADVENTURES – TERMS & CONDITIONS

Welcome to Little Dog Adventures. By booking our services, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions. These are in place to ensure the safety, wellbeing, and happiness of your dog, as well as the smooth running of our service.

1. General Agreement

1.1 By using Little Dog Adventures, you confirm that:

  • All information provided about your dog is accurate and up to date

  • You have read, understood, and accepted these Terms & Conditions

  • You are the legal owner of the dog or authorised to make decisions on their behalf

1.2 Little Dog Adventures reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time. The most current version will always be available on our website.

2. Services Provided

2.1 Little Dog Adventures specialises in solo dog walking, unless two dogs are from the same household.

2.2 All walks are carried out by the owner of Little Dog Adventures unless prior written consent is given.

2.3 Walk durations refer to active walking time only and do not include travel, pick-up, or drop-off.

3. Dog Eligibility & Health Requirements

3.1 Your dog must:

  • Be fully vaccinated (including kennel cough where applicable)

  • Be microchipped (as required by UK law)

  • Wear a secure, well-fitting collar or harness with an ID tag

  • Be free from fleas, ticks, worms, and other parasites

3.2 Dogs that are unwell or showing signs of contagious illness will not be walked.

3.3 Dogs in season (bitches in heat) will not be walked near other dogs.

4. Behaviour & Suitability

4.1 We accept shy, nervous, and reactive small dogs, but dogs must not pose a risk to people or other animals.

4.2 The client must inform Little Dog Adventures before walks begin of any:

  • Health conditions

  • Injuries

  • Allergies

  • Behavioural concerns

4.3 Dogs must not display aggressive behaviour toward people or other animals. If aggressive behaviour occurs, Little Dog Adventures reserves the right to terminate services immediately.

4.4 Your dog’s wellbeing, and the safety of all dogs in our care, is our priority.

5. Pick-Up & Drop-Off

5.1 Dogs will be collected from and returned to the agreed address within a flexible time window, depending on scheduling, traffic, and weather conditions.

5.2 If access to the property is not possible (e.g. locked door, faulty key safe, incorrect code), the walk may be cancelled and full fees will still apply.

6. Leads & Equipment

6.1 Dogs are walked on lead at all times for safety, unless prior written consent for off-lead walking has been given.

6.2 Owners must provide safe, well-fitting equipment. Little Dog Adventures is not liable for injury, loss, or damage caused by faulty, unsuitable, or incorrectly fitted equipment.

6.3 If provided equipment is unsafe, we reserve the right to use our own lead or harness.

6.4 Off-lead walking will only take place in safe and appropriate locations.

7. Weather Policy

7.1 Walks may be shortened, rescheduled, or replaced with enrichment or home visits during extreme weather, including:

  • Heatwaves

  • Storms

  • Dangerous icy conditions

7.2 No refunds are given for weather-related changes, but a suitable alternative will always be offered.

8. Emergencies & Veterinary Care

8.1 In an emergency, we will:

  • Attempt to contact you immediately

  • Take your dog to your nominated vet where necessary

  • Use the nearest available veterinary practice if your vet is unavailable

8.2 The client is responsible for all veterinary and emergency care costs.

8.3 All decisions will be made in the best interests of your dog.

9. Additional Expenses

9.1 The client agrees to reimburse Little Dog Adventures for any additional costs incurred, including emergency care, transport, accommodation, food, supplies, or unexpected visits required for their dog.

10. Keys & Home Access

10.1 Keys, key-safe codes, and access details are stored securely and never labelled with your address.

10.2 By providing access, you consent to Little Dog Adventures entering your property solely to carry out the agreed services.

10.3 The client agrees to provide all necessary keys or access arrangements to enable services to be completed.

11. Photos & Updates

11.1 With your permission, photos and videos of your dog may be taken for updates or social media.

11.2 No identifying information, addresses, or locations will ever be shared.

11.3 Walk updates, photos, or notes can be provided upon request. Any incidents or concerns will be communicated promptly.

12. Payment & Charges

12.1 Invoices are issued 5–7 days before the due date and are payable by the 1st of each month.

12.2 Payment is by bank transfer unless otherwise agreed in writing.

12.3 Cash payments, where agreed, must be made weekly on the first walk of the week.

12.4 Late payments will incur a charge of £0.50 per day, added to the outstanding balance.

13. Cancellations

13.1 Owner Cancellations

Permanent Slots

  • Permanent slots are booked on specific days each week

  • All permanent slots are chargeable whether used or not

  • Less than one month’s notice will incur full payment

  • Up to 12 working days per calendar year may be cancelled for holidays without charge

  • Any additional cancellations are charged at 50% of the standard rate to retain the slot

  • Term-time-only slots are not offered

Non-Permanent (Ad-Hoc) Slots

  • A minimum of 7 days’ notice is required

  • Less than 7 days’ notice will be charged in full

13.2 Little Dog Adventures Cancellations

If we must cancel due to illness, emergency, or unsafe weather, you will not be charged and we will aim to reschedule where possible.

14. Liability & Insurance

14.1 Little Dog Adventures holds full public liability insurance.

14.2 The client remains fully responsible for any injury, damage, or loss caused by their dog to people, property, or other animals.

14.3 The client accepts responsibility for any medical expenses or damages resulting from injury caused by their dog to the dog walker or any other person.

14.4 The client agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Little Dog Adventures from any claims, losses, or legal actions arising from such incidents.

14.5 The client accepts full liability for any loss or damage caused by their dog while being walked.

14.6 While every care is taken, Little Dog Adventures cannot be held liable for injury, illness, loss, or death resulting from circumstances beyond our control, including unforeseen accidents, sudden illness, or theft.

14.7 We cannot accept liability for:

  • Pre-existing conditions or injuries

  • Damage to property caused by your dog

  • Illness from environmental factors (e.g. pollen, grass seeds)

  • Behavioural issues not disclosed at the time of booking

14.8 Dogs are walked at the owner’s risk.

15. Termination of Service

15.1 Little Dog Adventures reserves the right to terminate services immediately if:

  • A dog becomes unsafe to walk

  • Payments are repeatedly late

  • The dog’s needs no longer align with our specialist solo walking service

16. Concerns & Complaints

16.1 Any concerns or complaints must be reported within 24 hours of the relevant service so they can be addressed promptly.

17. Standard of Care & Liability Waiver

17.1 Little Dog Adventures will provide services in a professional, reliable, and compassionate manner.

17.2 The client waives and releases any claims against Little Dog Adventures except in cases of proven negligence.

18. Premises Access & Security

18.1 Little Dog Adventures accepts no responsibility for property security if others have access during the agreement period.

18.2 Services are carried out solely by the owner unless otherwise agreed in writing.

19. Unforeseen Circumstances

19.1 If services cannot be provided due to illness, emergency, or unforeseen circumstances, the client will be notified as soon as possible and alternatives discussed where feasible.

20. Duration of Agreement

20.1 This agreement remains in effect for all future services until replaced.

20.2 The client may terminate the agreement with one month’s written notice.

21. Acceptance of Terms

By engaging Little Dog Adventures, the client confirms they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
